Celoxica ESL Technology Drives Programmable IP Development; Synoro Taps Celoxica ESL Design Technology To Rapidly Develop Programmable IP Solutions For Automotive, Image Processing And Network Security Markets
OXFORDSHIRE, England—(BUSINESS WIRE)—Jan. 23, 2006—
Celoxica (LSE:CXA) today announced a collaboration with
Synoro Technologies Ltd. India, to develop programmable IP solutions
for key vertical market applications. Targeting the rapidly increasing
number of FPGA and SOPC based production deployments in Automotive,
Imaging and Network Security, the companies will combine Celoxica's
C-based design and synthesis technology with Synoro's algorithm
expertise and engineering muscle.
Debuting at the Electronic Design and Solutions Fair, 26th January
in Yokohama, the companies will roll-out solutions for non-intrusive
automotive safety systems that integrate Machine Vision, Sensor
technology, programmable FPGA and programmable IP. Leveraging
Celoxica's ESL design path from software specification to hardware
implementation, Hyderabad based Synoro will demonstrate how very
complex algorithms and software models can be accelerated and quickly
realized in working silicon.
"By adopting ESL design and Celoxica tools we can better tackle
massive algorithm complexity and create the HW/ SW systems and IP that
people want faster than ever before," said Dr. Sarma, CTO at Synoro.
"With IP parameterization made easy because of C-based design,
customers can also benefit from increased flexibility and better reuse
though customization and optimization."
Electronic system level (ESL) design provides the critical bridge
between the system mix of hardware and embedded software content. It
provides an integrated view of the system and enables designers and IP
developers to focus on algorithm content and value. Implementation
effort to off-the-shelf programmable hardware and SoCs is minimized by
using a direct path from software to silicon.
"Programmable silicon has hit the price, performance inflection
point for volume production in new application areas," said Colin
Mason, vice president of Asia Pacific for Celoxica. "To exploit this
new opportunity, partner companies such as Synoro are increasingly
using our ESL tools to rapidly design their IP and expert know-how
into circuits and software."
Celoxica and Synoro will be exhibiting at the Electronic Design
and Solutions Fair, 26th - 27th January 2006, in Yokohama, Japan.
About Celoxica
A leader in electronic system level design (ESL), Celoxica is
enabling the next generation of advanced electronic products by
producing tools, boards, IP and services that turn software into
silicon. Celoxica technology raises design abstraction to the
algorithm level, accelerating productivity and lowering risk and costs
by generating semiconductor hardware directly from C-based software
descriptions. Adding to a growing installed base, Celoxica provides
the world's most widely used C-based behavioral design and synthesis
solutions to companies developing semiconductor products in markets
such as consumer electronics, defense and aerospace, automotive,
industrial and security. Celoxica is a publicly traded company on the
Alternative Investment Market of the London Stock Exchange under the
